The Cellist in Sarajevo (and You!)
A cellist in Sarajevo went out in the square, when the bombs were dropping, and started playing his cello.
Someone from the press said to him, 'Why are you out here playing the cello when the bombs are exploding?'
And he said, 'Why are they dropping the bombs when I'm playing the cello?"
...
We live in a world of structural violence, where we are planted in unhealthy systems predicated upon competition, domination and exploitation of various forms - some obvious and some subtler. That is considered normal.
So much so that singing the song of life, living a life built upon empathy and care for others has come to be considered as out of place.
But can you live it yet? And live it with conviction, that can help others also hear the music calling them too?
